Prezly is the only solution that combines online newsrooms with a CRM toolkit offering PR professionals new levels of efficiency and effectiveness in their campaigns. The service launches with one of the industry’s top-rated agencies H+K Strategies as its founding client.

Already powering online press centres for more than 300 companies in continental Europe, Prezly’s suite helps communicators store, segment and manage contacts of news release recipients in its cloud-hosted service. Messaging is then sent using Prezly to targeted recipients and social media audiences through branded web properties. Finally, a unique analytics toolset provides insight into campaign effectiveness.

Prezly is already used by big name agencies including Ogilvy, Porter Novelli, Pride\TBWA and Whyte, which have used Prezly to manage campaigns for global brands including Sony, McDonalds, Pepsi and Ikea.

Developed with feedback from London PR agencies, Prezly is now announcing H+K Strategies as its flagship UK client. H+K Strategies will use Prezly to power online newsrooms and track campaigns for customers, starting with HSBC Expat.

Prezly features include:

  • Cross-platform newsrooms: Corporate websites’ news sections are often developed only with desktop users in mind. However, one in six news releases is accessed via tablet. Prezly’s easy-to-build, customisable newsrooms integrate seamlessly with client websites but are guaranteed readability across a range of devices. And Prezly newsrooms serve up large files to reports more easily than cloud storage servers.
  • Distribution: Prezly lets communicators store and easily manage large lists of contacts, who receive communicators’ news releases and media assets all in one beautiful package. Mailouts can be scheduled automatically and simultaneously and to blast out to social media - because, nowadays, influencers are everywhere.
  • Contact management and reporting: Spreadsheets are for calculating your profit, not for storing your news release recipients. Prezly’s online CRM eliminates Excel hell to not just list but understand target responses. Grouping contacts lets users target messaging to distinct categories, whilst rich, data-driven profiles for individual recipients show communicators who is most receptive to particular messaging, turning a release into a relationship. Yet, there is no need for communicators to start from scratch, they can easily import current contacts from Gorkana and other databases.

We received great responses when we showed Prezly to agencies here, so we’re thrilled to be launching to help bring the UK PR industry into the 21st century.

- Jesse Wynants, Prezly co-founder

The old-fashioned news release is like a message in a bottle. For too long, PRs have simply pushed out their clients’ content as clunky attachments to small groups of professional journalists, with little insight into who is really reading and acting to generate brand uplift.

- Jesse Wynants, Prezly co-founder

By contrast, marketing and advertising are being revolutionised through new supporting technologies that give professionals in those disciplines unprecedented data-based insight into campaign effectiveness, whilst planners realise that social media users can be just as influential as journalists. We see ourselves as the geeks supporting PR professionals - and we can’t wait to start helping agencies realise PR 2.0.

- Jesse Wynants, Prezly co-founder

Our industry needs to make better use of technology in general and to plan and quantify our effectiveness specifically

- Matt Bright, Director at H+K Strategies

Integrating these functions into a single product will make us more efficient. We are looking forward to using Prezly to plan, distribute, and measure our campaigns.

About Prezly

Prezly was started by Jesse Wynants, Gijs Nelissen and Frederik Vincx in Belgium in 2008. Having worked at communications agencies, the trio wanted to solve their own frustrations with the PR process - releases distributed using cumbersome FTP servers and hard-to-use file lockers, giving senders no visibility of effectiveness after distribution.

Customers include Brussels Airlines and the BX Brussels football club owned by Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany, as well as communications agencies on behalf of their clients.

To date, Prezly users have published more than 15,000 news releases in over 3,000 online newsrooms. Prezly manages more than 150,000 contacts for its customers.
